RESIDENTIAL
Blackstone Condominiums

This 122-unit condominium building is a “Built Green” development to the gold standard.  The Built Green program was started as a joint undertaking between the Canadian Homebuilders Association and the Province of BC.  Six components to the program specify requirements and/or criteria which include: operational systems, building materials, exterior/interior finishes, indoor air quality, waste management, water conservation, and business practice. The building design is focused on creating a “sense of belonging” to the community through pedestrian-oriented elements.  The building form and placements have been situated as to create a unique 'gateway’ to an internal courtyard, offering a localized sense of identity, community and privacy  to the residents while maintaining a relationship to the street environment.  Outdoor play space is situated on the second floor of the west building, adjacent to the daycare which is included to benefit the residents and community.

The exterior materials proposed are dominated by stucco and brick, accented by metal panels and accent black railings and window treatments.
